No one makes it through life without some kind of pain or trauma. Our “emotional brain” then makes it into a story that travels with us over time. When we let our story serve us by finding the silver lining, we can change the dynamic. We change our relationship with our story and are no longer beholden to it as victims. Instead, we look for the good that came from our pain. It is often in the unearthing of our deepest pain that we find the most resilient and beautiful parts of ourselves.
